Test:

- create a file in memory
- open a stream
- write a byte to the stream
- read the byte from the stream

The Legacy .rdb Format

Originally used for services and types .rdb files, before the former were replaced with XML files and the latter with the new unoidl format, but still needed for backwards compatibility.
